Cruise America, the biggest name in RV Rental also sells their fleet after 4-5 years of service. When it comes time to sell we have two separate preparation methods to turn an ex-rental unit into a unit available for purchase. Our typical preparation method (Re-conditioning) involves transporting the Unit to our Corporate HQ where it undergoes a rigorous 10-14 day inspection/repair process that includes full body paint, body work and vinyl graphics installation and as you could imagine it is quite expensive. We feel that many of our units are in such good shape when they are retired that they dont need all of that time and effort to be able to be sold and enjoyed which is why we started doing Locally Pre-Conditioned RVs. For units that have been locally inspected and determined not to need body repairs or any extensive repairs we can choose to keep the unit locally, remove the rental graphics leaving a plain white exterior and condition the RV to the same standards as we would a rental RV. While this helps provide inventory to our store locally it also allows us to take thousands in savings and pass them on to a customer looking for unbeatable value at the expense of a little elbow work. These are sold as-is will show more cosmetic imperfections than their Reconditioned counter parts but every major component will be in working condition upon pickup so you can hit the road and go camping immediately. While these vehicles are not eligible for the Limited 3 Month, 3,000 Mile Powertrain Warranty , they are eligible for both the 5 Year 100K Extended Powertrain Warranty as well as the 4 Year Coach Warranty.
